I’ve been collecting recipes from daily issue newspapers, but I haven’t been doing any of the recipes because the newspaper isn’t around, or I’d have to go through each of the pages I’ve ripped out. So I decided that I’m going to put these into a recipe box, with each recipe on its own card. I’m going to start the project with some templates to make the job easier.

I am going to use Bake Me a Cake,

 and I’ll be using the DIY Printable Templates: Recipe Bundle by Heather Roselli & Darcy Baldwin.

Bake Me a Cake has awesome elements that will look great on recipe cards. You can do recipe cards for Main Dishes, Side Dishes, Casseroles, whatever you like. Because even though the theme is baking, it still has great elements for any recipe. I’m planning on making both a Recipe Folio, and a Recipe Box. I think I have enough recipes to fill both.

So stay tuned, because in a week or so, I’ll be back to show you this project and how it turned out.

Next I cut them out, and took out some kraft coloured cardstock to layer underneath the printed tags:

I added a pretty scalloped edge, then cut the kraft cardstock to fit around the edges of my digitally created tag. I collected the rest of my supplies, eyelets (plus a setter) and some pretty ribbon.

This was actually the first time I’d ever used eyelets before, but with my cropadile it was pretty simple and easy.

Kristin’s latest kit is what inspired me to try this out. Here’s what inspired me:

11 x 14 Canvas Hanging by 7gypsies

I loved all the hearts and the simplicity of the piece. So I thought that with Kristin’s beautiful new kit At Last, and another amazing kit J’Adore, I could make something along the same lines.

Both kits complement each other with similar colour schemes, so I gave it a try. Here’s my 8 X 10 canvas, that uses papers from both kits:

This was an easy project because all it required was cutting out the hearts from the papers I printed, adding a bit of bling, glue and pop dots to get the extra dimension. I added a bit of ink to highlight some hearts and a quote from the first dance at my wedding reception. It all came together in under an hour.

Why not try out a hybrid project yourself, using inspiration from Pinterest and see what you come up with. Kristin’s papers are so yummy they print out beautifully. I use premium photo paper (double sided) for inkjet printers, and as you can see, the colours are true to their preview.

Kristin is releasing these fabulous numbered tags that will make the perfect addition to any layout! Tell us a little about you.

I’m Kendall, and I live in South Carolina with my husband, Chris, and daughter, Logan. We also have a dog, a very spoiled fat cat who is like my other child, and a chameleon. Until recently, I worked in marketing for a local college. Last May, I quit my job to work from home part-time as a Disney-authorized travel agent. I must say it’s the best decision I’ve ever made! In my “spare” time, I enjoy volunteer work, photography, reading, music, and of course, travel.

When did you start digiscrapping, and what got you started?

I dabbled in paper scrapping when my daughter was a toddler, but something about cutting up my precious photos did not sit well with me! I discovered digi in 2009 after some friends posted their layouts on a Disney-related forum I frequented. I “officially” started scrapping in November of that year and haven’t ever looked back.

What inspires you to create layouts?

A lot of times it’s the kits themselves that inspire me. I LOVE color and patterns, and so when I see a kit containing a certain color palette or element, my brain just kicks into overdrive! Of course, my photos and my family’s memories are also a huge inspiration. I didn’t take nearly as many photos as I should have when my daughter was a baby, so I guess you could say I’m making up for that now.

Which of Kristin’s kit is your favorite?

Ugh…this is an impossible choice! I would have to say that Splendor is at the top of the list. I’m not usually a huge fan of fall-ish kits, but this one just blew me away the moment I saw it! The kit is so incredibly beautiful and has such a realistic feel.

Tell us a little about you!

I’m single, childless and living as a teacher in China. I love scrapping, playing tennis, and photography.

When did you start digiscrapping, and what got you started?

I started digiscrapping in late 2008 when I stumbled upon some freebies online. I’ve never done any scrapping before that, but I’ve always loved being creative with a computer, since I’m too much a perfectionist to actually do stuff with paper (you can cut something wrong, waste something that you later want to use for something else, etc.). So, the digiscrap-method perfectly suited my creative interests combined with making perfection possible, lol!

What inspires you to create layouts?

Lots of things inspire me. Usually, though it’s the beautiful kits that I see and must have. And then I have to do something with those kits, right? Then, of course, I love to look through the galleries to find inspiration, and sometimes it’s just a photo that inspires me. Only quite late did digiscrapping actually become a memory keeping tool for me. I got into it because of the creative outlet it gave me.

Which of Kristin’s kit is your favorite?

Now, I think this is the very hardest question to answer, seriously. The reason I wanted to be on Kristin’s team is not because I wanted another CT spot, but because I really wanted a spot in KCBs team, because I pretty much love all of her products, even the ones I don’t like, or don’t need, or … lol! Anyways (putting thinking cap on, going to my scrapbook stash for a little search …), I think I’d pick Sweet Escape, though seriously, you shouldn’t take that as my word, because how can I have a favorite when she has so many gorgeous kits out?

And last but definitely not least, here’s Natalie (aka NatalieKW)!

Tell us a little about you.

My name is Natalie. My husband, Curt, and I were married almost four years ago. We live in North Texas with our three girls: Isabelle (2), Ella (1) and Emery (1). I stay at home with our kids while my husband goes to school to be an architect and designs foundations at work. I am pretty much a SAHM, but before I had Isabelle I worked as an Account Exec at Lifetouch Photography. It was really stressful and demanding and I don’t miss working outside of the home at all.

When did you start digiscrapping, and what got you started?

I started digi-scrapping right after I was done with my Bachelor’s degree because I had an aunt that introduced me to it. I loved it, but after a couple of months, I met and started dating my husband and all my spare time was spent with him. I really picked it up after my oldest was born in the spring of 2009. I loved it because I could do it with one hand and hold her with the other. All she did was cry and the only thing that helped was for me to hold her, so it was something to do while holding her. I’ve been addicted ever since.

What inspires you to create layouts?

Mostly the kits themselves…or a template I’m really excited to use. Other amazing layouts in the gallery also do the trick. Lately I’ve been challenging myself to make layouts that I love so much that I can’t stop looking at them. That’s been pretty inspiring too since it feels great to be so happy and excited with the end result.

Which of Kristin’s kit is your favorite?

I’m currently working on a layout with Domesticated, so that’s probably my favorite right now. My favorite collab would probably be Choose Happiness. It’s really hard to choose though!
