A little something to make you smile…

Published by Sara under Freebies

Sara here with a little goodie for you!! Because I’m already completely gooped up on the holiday gop and feeling all tingly with the spirit of giving, I wanted to share a template with you. If you love clean designs and blocking, I hope you’ll love this too!

Here’s the page that inspired the template…I used Kristin’s fabulous Foodies collab with Mandabean to document my organic homemade babyfood making obsession when my daughter was just starting to eat solids:

And you can pick up the template HERE:

Here’s the link again in case you missed it up above: freebie template

I can’t wait to see what you come up with using the template and I so hope you enjoy it!

And be sure to check out KCB’s freshest offering over at the newly revamped Sweet Shoppe Designs. She’s teamed up with Shawna Clingerman and Melissa Bennett to create the most fabulous choo-choo train kit you’ve ever seen. It’s also fantastically versatile. You can check it out HERE.

Happy weekend and happy scrapping!

Photo Discussion and a Sneak Peek!

Published by Colleen under Uncategorized

Good morning! This is my first time posting as a member of Kristin’s ct and I’m so excited!!

So. Photos. We all take them. They are the basis of our fantastical scrapbooking hobby. We use them to document memories and moments in our lives. Since I bought my DSLR a few months ago, I’ve become obsessed with photography. To the point that I wish I could quit my job and travel and be a full time photographer, LOL! That’s not gonna happen any time soon, but what I can do is point everyone to some really awesome resources to improve your photography, and therefore your scrapping!

First, I love the forums at www.ilovephotography.com. When you register (it’s free), there’s a whole section called JSO (just starting out). It’s FULL of tips, techniques, and people looking for (and leaving) constructive criticism on photographs. It may seem a bit overwhelming at first, but just wandering around and reading the CC posts can be SO helpful! Plus, it’s just fun to look at the pictures! :)

Second and Third, are 2 really fantastic authors that I’ve been reading. One, is Scott Kelby, author of “The Digital Photography Book” (which now has a Volume 2 which I can’t wait to get my hands on!). Scott writes as if you were out on a shoot with him and asked him a question. No big technical paragraphs about the science behind the photography, just “try this”. Lots of photos to demonstrate what he’s talking about as well. It’s like reading a conversation between you and a friend.

The other author is Bryan Peterson, who wrote “Understanding Exposure”. This book is fantastic! It explains so many things that get glossed over in other books. It’s slightly more technical, but if you’ve started to play in manual, it’s a resource you can’t live without!

Well, I think I’ve made you wait long enough for your sneak peek :) So here you go! A 2scoops collab with Lauren Grier!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone! And don’t forget, the new kit is 20% off tomorrow only, at Sweet Shoppe Designs!

Spotlight on Linz!

Published by supertwinkle under Customer Spotlight

Christine (supertwinkle) here with a KCB customer spotlight! I had seen so many adorable layouts in the KCB gallery by Lindsay (aka Linz in the SSD forums), that I thought it would be fun to do a little Q&A with her.

1. What motivates you to scrap, and who/what are your biggest inspirations? I scrap so my family will be able to look back and realize that I noticed every little thing… and that I thought each little thing was important enough to scrap. My 2½ yr old son is my biggest inspiration by far. Of course, dh makes an appearance in some of my layouts too, but who can resist a toddler grinning from ear to ear?!

2. How long have you been digi-scrapping, and how did you discover it? I started in May of this year and I’ve created about 200 layouts in that short time. So I think it’s safe to say I’m slightly addicted. Up until then, I had been making signature tags on a large message board. I often used digi scrap kits for those tags so I’m not really sure why I didn’t think to do actual pages a little sooner! LOL

3. When did you discover KCB’s designs? What drew you to her products? I think it was around Nov-Dec of last year. Honestly, I don’t think she’s ever made a kit that I didn’t love! (I’m somewhat secretly hoping she will though so I can give my paypal acct a break, LOL!) Her designs are just plain gorgeous.

4. Which one of KCB’s products is your all-time favorite and why? Hmm… toughie! Well, keeping in mind that I have a toddler boy I’d have to say Rugged. The colors and dirt spills were just made for him!

Rugged

5. Please share with us your 3 favorite layouts using KCB’s products.

Each image is clickable to Lindsay’s layout in her gallery if you wish to leave her some love! Thanks for being such a good sport and being my first interview guinea pig!

Summer Reflections

Published by Sara under Uncategorized

I can hardly believe it, but September is JUST around the corner. The season of warm breezes, hot sun, lots of fun, filled with getaways and relaxation is nearing its end. Before we know it, the crisper air will be setting in and the colors and holidays of autumn will be upon us.

I know a lot of us are still holding on to summer and probably still have lots of summer pages left to scrap. So I thought it would be neat to look back and reflect on the FABULOUS designs KCB brought us this season…

Kristin really gave us gobs of glorious goodies to choose from. From the perfect kit for scrapping our camping adventures, to a fabulous kit for our Canadians, to a variety of kits that really capture the fun and cheerful spirit of the season, there are endless opportunities to getr creative and create the perfect summer pages. *cue nostalgic mood music* as we take a montage look at this summer KCB style:

Be sure to check out KCB’s store to pick up any of her fantastic designs you may have missed.

Then, as we look ahead to autumn here’s a little frame cluster freebie for you with one of my personal faves from Kristin’s summer collection of designs….Natural Beauty, which also has some gorgeous rich, warm tones perfect for autumn pages:

You can snag it here: frame freebie

Hope you enjoy!! Happy Scrapping!!

P.S. You won’t want to miss the crazy fabulous perfect pairs kits (yes, that’s plural) that KCB has coming to the Shoppe this weekend with a certain talented somebody.

Spotlight on “Giggles” and a quickpage freebie for you! :)

Published by Elizabeth under Freebies, New Release

Hello everyone! I hope you are having a fabulous summer, as I am. We’re keeping busy and on the go around here, which means I’m taking tons of pictures but of course don’t have as much time to scrap them as I would like! I’m guessing that most of you are the same way, so I thought I’d make a quickpage to share. I decided to do one “girlie” version, and a more neutral version as well.

I really loved working with Kristin’s latest kit, “Giggles.” Though it’s not an explicitly “summer” themed kit, I love how the vibrant hues definitely evoke fun summer memories with your family.

Anyway, here are the quickpages that I created, feel free to grab them if you like them!
