Inspired by Pinterest

I hope everyone is having a great week so far. I’ve been caught up by all the Pinterest lately, as I am sure many of you have, especially if you are following the Sweet Shoppe Portfolio challenges. I’ve had something pinned on my For the Home board for a while and I finally got down to trying it.

Kristin’s latest kit is what inspired me to try this out. Here’s what inspired me:

11 x 14 Canvas Hanging by 7gypsies

I loved all the hearts and the simplicity of the piece. So I thought that with Kristin’s beautiful new kit At Last, and another amazing kit J’Adore, I could make something along the same lines.

Both kits complement each other with similar colour schemes, so I gave it a try. Here’s my 8 X 10 canvas, that uses papers from both kits:

This was an easy project because all it required was cutting out the hearts from the papers I printed, adding a bit of bling, glue and pop dots to get the extra dimension. I added a bit of ink to highlight some hearts and a quote from the first dance at my wedding reception. It all came together in under an hour.

Why not try out a hybrid project yourself, using inspiration from Pinterest and see what you come up with. Kristin’s papers are so yummy they print out beautifully. I use premium photo paper (double sided) for inkjet printers, and as you can see, the colours are true to their preview.
